Listen Up! Seniors take a stand on housing

Listen Up! Seniors take a stand on housing / Whakarongo mai! E nga kaumātua e tu ana mo te whare is a publication and photographic exhibition sharing the voices of older persons across Ōtautahi. During the first week of October the exhibition was on display at Aldersgate Centre in central Christchurch.

Listen Up! Seniors take a stand on housing is created by David Cook, photographer and senior lecturer at Massey University. He highlights the housing stories and struggles of older New Zealanders, including tenants from the Christchurch Methodist Mission's Wesley Village and Whare Tiaki, and other community housing providers.

“I’m so grateful to the fellow seniors and kaumātua who shared their housing experiences," says David. "Their stories are raw, honest and challenging. Their stories need to be heard. Listen up!”
